ProPublica Plain Language Translations – State of Denial

Recently, I had the pleasure of doing plain language translations for a series of articles written by Amy Silverman and published by ProPublica. Plain language uses clear language and simplified sentence structure to make the story more accessible to more people, including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Plain language does not change or censor the information, but presents it in a way that makes it understandable to a wider audience.

You can check out the series (available in original text, plain language, audio, or Spanish) as well as editors’ and production notes here: https://www.propublica.org/series/state-of-denial
